About Honaker Families
Hello and Welcome!

This is a work in progress and while not current, it is good place to begin your Honaker research.

The photographs on the site are mainly from the book (The Honaker Family in America), the Honaker Family Newsletters, or copies of photos sent to me by other descendants.

The Association has sold out of the book "The Honaker Family in America" At this point, no 2nd edition is planned.

Because of other commitments, I don't update this site as often as I would like. If you have questions or updates, please contact me directly at my e-mail: dddfmd@msn.com.

The update of 3 June 2018 solved two of our Rebecca Jane Honaker mysteries. I have also begun adding information from Nadine Larsen's book.

We have several mysteries and points of confusion. They involve folks like which George Washington Honaker belongs to whom and which Rebecca Honaker married which Barrett fellow. If you can provide assistance on these, it would be most helpful

To protect our children and our privacy, I have masked individuals who are still living. So if you search under your own name, you won't find anything. Best thing to do is search under the parent or grandparent who is deceased. There are some drawbacks. Names are filed as spelled. That means that if the name was spelled Honiker, that's how it's indexed - not Honaker.

I hope that this can be the beginning of a Honaker Family website that everyone can enjoy and use.

If you connect to the Honaker families through any of the following names, you may find more information at my other tribal page site. There is a link to that site at the bottom of this page: Rasnake/Rasnick/Rasnic; McGlothlin; Patrick; Jackson (and many others).

There is also a Honaker Family Facebook Page at:

The official Honaker Family Association has been disbanded, including the quarterly Honaker Family Newsletter.

The latest update (18 Jul 2022) added death dates for a lot of folks in the Mary Honaker line (daughter of Hans Jacob who married Henry Smith - also seen as Heinrich Schmidt).

Feel free to e-mail me if you need anything.

PS - please do NOT try to add information to this site. It is only updated through uploads from my database. Anything you add will be overwritten the next time I upload my database.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
